Let's get emotional
BELIEFS I LEARNED FROM STUDYING THE WORK OF TONY ROBBINS, DALE CARNEGIE, AND MANY OTHERS OVER THE YEARS. I HOPE MY WORDS INSPIRE YOU TO CONTINUE GROWING AND LEARNING FROM SUCH GREAT MINDS AS I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE THEN GO AND HELP OTHERS. I DON'T CLAIM THESE TO BE MY IDEAS I ONLY STAND AS PROOF IN THE POWER OF THEM IF PRACTICED. I BELIEVE IN YOU.
You must create habits that will in turn change your life to something of an iconic fairy tale. You will have your happy ending, but you must become that which your mind saw on that day when the seed was planted, when the dream was reachable, and when the fairy tale came true.
I URGE YOU TO HEAR MY VOICE. I know that you are reading and I am writing, but you must listen. You must listen not with just your ears, but your mind and heart. I speak in a grandfather tone with great passion and love for wonder, therefore, while you read these insights, it is very important to me that you listen deeply to my voice.
Have you ever wanted something so bad, that when you got it, you realized that you didn’t really want it? Welcome to desire, and disappointment. Understanding these two elements of life are very important in the challenge of dreaming big. Should we dream in realistic terms or should we dream far beyond realism and reach for something that some would say is impossible? I have discovered the answer to this most important question.
If you shoot for the stars and reach the moon, you have still achieved much, but if you shoot for the moon and fall short, you probably will wish you would have shot for the stars.
While most leaders challenge their audiences to “Think Big and Dream or Go Home,” which creates positive attitudes and positive thinking, they are missing the important ingredient: price = reward. You always must consider that the price you pay will equal the reward given. This is the part most slide passed. I’m not necessarily speaking in terms of the hard work it takes to make something happen, I am speaking of the state of the mind in understanding that until you are ready to receive the success, you, without knowledge of it, are blocking your success. I was told once by my Kung Fu master to think of my life as a stream and to imagine myself as a leaf in that stream floating along ripples of life unforced. “The stream of life will take you to beautiful places, he stated with such serenity, as long as you go with the flow.”
You must let go of your desires and dreams to allow life to reward you for what you deserve now, you must stop chasing the dreams that make your heart race, and you must imagine yourself as a magnet focusing on just one thing, which you will eventually get. On this journey you will be attracting positive energy and rolling rapids towards your goal, you will inevitably attract many energies that will make you much richer and healthier.
The leaf that holds onto the tree long into the fall sees less of the journey down the stream before the water is frozen over by winter. Whereas the leaf that lets go flows down stream floating along the journey set forth.
Things will come to you as you learn to let go of your judgments and negative beliefs that are blocking your optimist within.
In order to create a desire you must write it down. You must imagine that which you desire in your mind as though you have already achieved it. If you can do this and truly become happy as though it has already happened then you will find the desire to become real. Don’t under-estimate the need to combine your entire body (mind, body, and spirit) in the process. You must get your entire body involved in every step that we will go over today. If you want to create excitement about a change or to make something emotional, breath as though you believe it is real. When we are sad or depressed we tend to hold our heads down and talk softer. When we are excited about something we tend to stand taller and breath deeper. Our thoughts show through our body and in turn tell us how we truly feel.
Desire to change and get excited about knowing that you must change. If you don’t change what will your life be like in one year from now? 5 years from now? 20 years from now? Take just one minute, 60 seconds to emotionally, physically, and spiritually feel how bad it will be and get in the state of sadness about it. Notice how your family is suffering, your friends are suffering, and you can’t believe you waited so long to change. Feeling this suffering and regret and knowing these sufferings and regrets will be true is how you create leverage on those negative beliefs that are holding you down. Make them real by getting emotional about them.
Now change your state! Sit up tall think of a how great it will be once you have changed and the negative belief is no longer running things. Breath in with that knowledge knowing that you are the master of your own life. How great will your life be now. In 5 years, in 10 years, and in 20 years down the road with this new belief.
How do we notice or recognize our negative beliefs? You must understand where your beliefs come from. Pleasure and Pain are what dictates our beliefs and every choice we make is made because of pleasure or pain.
We will get started by understanding how we can create lasting change and what stops us from taking steps in the first place with two elements of life that are unavoidable: Pleasure and Pain. Let us Change.
